We’ve added new ensembles, and plan to add more. We want to be the place where everyone who wants to sing has a place on the risers.
AACC is an umbrella arts organization created by the Alexandria Harmonizers (“The Harmonizers”), an ensemble that has enjoyed over seven decades of performing for the City of Alexandria and the wider DC metro area. Our intent is to create new and exciting ensembles as part of our ongoing effort to appeal to a broader spectrum of singers and audiences.
Join us! AACC hosts regular concerts and engages in community events across the DC metropolitan area, as well as on tours around the world.
Share your voice! Your contributions help us bring harmony to the communities of the larger DC metropolitan area.
The Harmonizers are a globally-recognized men’s a cappella chorus, with 19 international medals—including four gold medal championships—to its credit. Led by artistic director Joe Cerutti, the TTBB chorus is made up of more than 100 volunteer singers. During the organization’s 77-year history, the Harmonizers have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Wolf Trap, the Kennedy Center Honors, the White House, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The chorus has sung alongside such legends as Dick Van Dyke, Kristin Chenoweth, and Andrew Lippa, and the Harmonizers have performed internationally— appearing in the United Kingdom, France, and China and with an upcoming tour of Ireland in 2025.
Led by director Samantha Tramack and a renowned artistic team, Metro Voices is an SSAA chorus that began in 2023. With 30 members, Metro Voices had gained a national reputation within months of its establishment—a reputation cemented when its members became champions of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 2024 International Chorus Festival.
Both choruses rehearse at 7:00 PM most Tuesday evenings at Alex Renew, 1800 Limerick St Alexandria VA 22314 (a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Yellow Line Eisenhower Ave Metro stop). Occasionally we rehearse at an alternate location, or are away for a performance or recording session, so be sure to contact us before finalizing your plans to visit us. Regular Harmonizers and Metro Voices rehearsals are open to anyone who wants to perform with us or just watch
. Guests who are potential applicants are encouraged to join us on the risers during rehearsals. We will provide you with a guest music book and place you next to a strong singer of your same voice part to make your visit more enjoyable.
Music Educators: If you wish to bring your class or group, we would love to be your hosts! Please contact us in advance so we can make arrangements to give your students the best experience possible.
Registration opens in late summer for rising 8 – 12th grade students to be part of a young singing community, singing with others in the a cappella style (no preparation needed), hearing some fantastic performances by world-class singers, enjoying refreshments, and getting in on the ground floor of our brand-new seasonal youth chorus — 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗘!
Check out our calendar for exciting concerts and events that we’ll be hosting for you in the coming months.
